Tashkent and Cairo have discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation
The sixth session of the joint Uzbek - Egyptian intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation has taken place on May, 4-5th, 2009 In the city of Cairo.

As the press-service of the foreign policy department of the republic have informed, delegations have headed from the Uzbek party - the assistant of the prime minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustam Kasimov, and the Egyptian - the minister of the international cooperation of the Arabian Republic Egypt Faiza Abunnaga.«During the negotiations parties have discussed condition and prospects of bilateral trade, economic and scientific-technical cooperation. The important place has been taken away to the further increase in goods turnover between two countries, and also the expansion of investment cooperation. Participants of the session focused attention to expansion of bilateral cooperation in sphere of rural and a water management, and also in the field of tourism», - the representative of the press-service has explained.

 

As he said, the results of the negotiations signed five documents: the Agreement on friendship and cooperation between Administration of capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Tashkent city and Administration of capital of the Arabian Republic Egypt - Cairo; the Memorandum of mutual understanding between the Ministry of rural and a water management of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of irrigation and water resources of the Arabian Republic Egypt on cooperation in the field of a water management; the Memorandum of mutual understanding on cooperation in the field of archival business between Agency "Uzarhiv" at the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Central administrative board of the National library and archives of the Arabian Republic Egypt; the Memorandum of mutual understanding between the Samarqand state university of Alisher Navoi of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the University of Suez canal of the Arabian Republic Egypt; The report of 6th session of the joint Intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Arabian Republic Egypt.

 

 «The place and terms of carrying out of following session of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Arabian Republic Egypt will be coordinated on diplomatic channels», - have concluded in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic.Let's remind that the fifth session of the given commission has been spent in Tashkent in May, 2007. Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Arabian Republic Egypt have been established in January, 1992. Trade-economic relations between the countries are regulated by agreements «About mutual encouragement and protection of investments», «About economic and scientific-technical cooperation», «About an air communication», «About avoidance of the double taxation and evasion from payment of taxes to the income», «About trade».
